  1. First Job and Lessons Learned

My first job was as a dishwasher at The Hen House Restaurant. Since I couldn’t drive, I rode with my mom, who managed the restaurant. That experience taught me the importance of showing up, giving your best, and understanding that every role contributes to an organization’s success. No matter your position, you are part of a team.

  1. Most Adventurous Experience Outside of Work

After college, I traveled west of Kansas City and saw the mountains for the first time. At a resort in Beaver Creek, Colorado, I immersed myself in activities I had never tried—snow skiing and white-water rafting among them. My biggest takeaway was that when you are uncomfortable, you are growing.

  1. Unexpected Lesson from a Mentor or Colleague

Through my experiences as both a mentor and mentee, I’ve learned that success in these relationships depends on the emotional investment from both parties. Leadership development is mutual—each person learns from the other.

Working on culture is a constant challenge. Even after achieving success, you must start fresh each day with positivity, consistency and discipline. It’s rewarding work, but it never truly ends.
